NCAA Contact Rules by Division

NCSA Athletic Recruiting put tougher a summary of the current NCAA Contact Rules by Division and by year.  Within Inside College Volleyball, I have defined a number of NCAA Recruiting Terms which provide the background terminology for the rules below.

Hey coach - You made a cut/paste error under Official Visits Div III. Should be "...no limit on the total visits to Division III schools."

    Love the site!

  3. My daughter is being recruited for a d 1 school for volleyball. The coach is traveling across the country to watch a practice. Can we, as parents, invite the coach out to dinner?

  4. Only if your daughter is a current Senior. If she is not a senior, then no contact may happen between coach and family.

  5. my daughter is a freshman in high school, if we go to a college game can we introduce ourselves to the coach?

  6. Yes - If you are introducing yourselves to the home team, then the coach may interact with you because you are on their campus. If you are introducing yourself to the visiting team, the coach can just say 'hello' and cannot interact because you are not on their campus - Per NCAA rules; I am not sure on NAIA and JC rules.

  7. We had a Junior in high school commit to a D1 program during the fall season? How did that take place?

  8. Recruits can make a verbal commitment at anytime because the college coaches offer at anytime. How the DI coach does it, is invites the Player onto campus for an Unofficial Visit (either by email or by calling the club/high school coach to give a message to the family).

  9. our daughter who's a junior this year has several div 1 and div 2 coaches coming to watch her in a Vegas tournament next week. are the coaches allowed to talk to her or us parents during the tournament?

  10. No - Since you are the parents of a Junior, no off campus, in person contact may be made.
